1) Prepare for the Party
Abraham Lincoln said that if you are on a tree, spend 90% of your time to sharpen the ax. Preparation makes any activity go better. EBirthday parties, you do not want to wait until next year to compensate for the lack of preparation is not it?
What should you prepare?
Knowing the situation. If the party takes place in a room, house, party, amusement park or recognize that each site has its own photographic "blueprint". Depending on the location of the project, prepare in advance for the correct settings for the camera white balance, exposure metering and exposure compensation.
2) Know yourObstacles
What is your way to the birthday party (excluding your drunken brother-in-law)? Are there any fixed columns, hanging plants or lights that need to be planned around? For example, if there is a fixed object right where the best pictures should be taken somewhere else on the creation of the main table. It is much easier then before the event, when the party and realize that it is the required number of "move the room a little 'left'.
3) L 'Main table
If using rectangular tables, take the pictures birthday party in front of the large end of the rectangle. In doing so, use the wide angle setting on the camera. If you take photos from the birthday party closer, use as large an F-stop number as possible (preferably F-22 or higher). But even if you do, some of the guests are probably still out of focus (hence the "shooting wide from the end of" proposal).
4) Flash Decisions
Do not assume that youWe recommend using the camera's flash all the time. If the camera has a "hot shoe" (this and many other useful terms are defined in http://www.best-family-photography-tips.com/compare-digital-camera-features.html). In this case, you should use a bounce flash or a diffuser.
As a real eye opener to see how high your ISO setting can go and see if the resulting images are not too "noisy" (digital noise = film grain)
5) Better safe than sorry
Take multiple shots of the criticalPhotographs. Consider Yes / No, different measuring methods and different f-stops. Moreover, regardless of what you say or do, people will begin to flash. And, incidentally, not on spotting small problems on the small camera's LCD screen (even with total magnification) counted.
6) The fund
What does the fund look like? If it's neutral - use. If it's ugly, maximize your depth of field (smallest possible F-stop) to blur the background. If you do not write, I can guaranteeWhat you do not remember for more than 10 seconds after the start of the images. Also note the shadows that fall clearly visible in the background (ie pull the proposals in indirect light flash and without flash at high ISO setting).
7) The LCD
Do not check your DISPLAY to something else, if you cut the head of all. LCD display, it should not be used to confirm contrast, color, lighting, or other critical factors. Therefore, the computer mustevaluate test shots before the party. If you are very experienced, you can say certain things from the histogram, but to be safe - you should take test shots and the results of a computer (or, ideally a printer) long before the effective date of the party.
8) Equipment
Are the batteries, memory cards, chargers, external flash, lens accessories and tripod is ready to load.
9) Construct a Birthday Party Pictures List
Make a note MUST HAVE pictures, as well as those whoto understand how, if possible. And what is the welfare of a list, if you want to party and remember to reference it.
10) Candids
If you compile a list, I can also suggest "Candids" on it. Very often the best birthday party photos are snapshots will. Since most birthday photos put in place to take snapshots on a special uniqueness.
Honest picture of children's birthday party that sleep should always come first. Why? On purelynotes full of emotion, are always beautiful, usually with a smile to the viewer, and sometimes a laugh.
11) Now Surplus
If this is your child's birthday party, she will never look better than they do just before the party starts. If possible, find a place where natural light comes in through a window and asked them for some pictures and the cake big smile. (The younger the child, the less chance for smiles, so do not go crazy.)
And by the way, there are tooopportunity later to take some pictures birthday party with cake and ice cream dribbling out of his mouth.
